Growth of future generations

The PPIH Group promotes activities to nurture the next generation through education and sports, with the main focus on creating a society where children, who will be responsible for the next generation, can live healthy lives.

Joint project on aquarium maintenance

To provide enjoyment and a sense of healing to our customers, PPIH Group stores feature large aquariums where visitors can view tropical fish from Palau.
These aquariums are jointly maintained in collaboration with three schools: TCA Tokyo College of ECO & Animals, Osaka College of ECO & Animals and Nagoya College of ECO & Animals. As part of the "Joint Project on Aquarium Maintenance," students not only care for the aquatic organisms and manage the surrounding equipment, but also receive guidance from our Group employees on exhibition concepts and layout proposals. This initiative offers practical learning opportunities and contributes to the development of students studying marine life ecology.
The project is currently being implemented at a total of 16 Don Quijote and MEGA Don Quijote stores across the Kanto, Kansai, and Tokai regions, with 229 students having participated since 2019 (as of July 2025).

Mobile Aquarium Program

Since 2023, our Group has been organizing a "Mobile Aquarium" program at elementary schools located near stores with aquarium installations. This initiative aims to provide children with enriching experiences, foster good relationship with local communities, and contribute to building better towns.
Through interactive quizzes, children deepen their understanding of the ecology and characteristics of marine life. Additionally, by observing live sea creatures up close in aquariums, they are encouraged to feel a closer connection to the ocean. The program also introduces the importance of life and the challenges facing marine environments in an easy-to-understand manner, offering children opportunities to think about actions they can take to protect the environment--such as waste separation, reducing plastic use, and preventing ocean pollution.
As of now, the program has been held at a total of 11 schools. We will continue to deliver meaningful learning experiences to children who represent the future of their communities.

Donations to Pediatric Medical Institutions

It is estimated that more than 120,000 children in Japan are living with rare and intractable diseases.*
Since 2020, our Group has been making donations to the National Center for Child Health and Development, with the hope of creating a society where more children can live healthy and happy lives through advances in medical research. These donations are used to support research in the field of transplantation at the Center.
We will continue our efforts to support medical institutions so that children fighting serious illnesses and their families can smile again.

*Based on the number of recipients of the Medical Care Certificate for Specified Pediatric Chronic Diseases, as stated in the March 2022 "Guidebook for Surveying the Needs of Children with Specified Pediatric Chronic Diseases and Their Families."

We received the Medal with Dark Blue Ribbon in August 2023.

Workplace Experience

Our Group stores offer work experience programs for elementary, junior high and high school students.
In these programs, students experience actual work based on our stores' community-based approach, which is one of our strengths and is based on our corporate principle; "The Customer Matters Most".
Specifically, students learn about marketing through activities such as creating POPs to convey the appeal of products, arranging product displays and maintaining shop floors, while experiencing the joy of seeing their products chosen by customers.
In addition, through interaction with our employees, we aim to provide an opportunity for children to experience the satisfaction and enjoyment of working, while also learning the manners and communication skills necessary for working, as well as problem-finding and problem-solving skills.
Through this initiative, we hope to deepen children's understanding of work and provide an opportunity for them to think about their own futures. In addition, we will also deepen our own connections with the local community and use this as a way to create better stores.
We held 329 work experience programs in the fiscal year ending June 2025.

Initiatives as a Foundation
Introduction of the Yasuda Scholarship Foundation

Support for the development of international students who will become "Bridges to the World"

The Yasuda Scholarship Foundation was established in 2005 by Takao Yasuda, the founder of our group.
The foundation provides repayment-free scholarships to Japanese and foreign students who are highly motivated to study but have difficulty attending school due to financial reasons, and provides them with an environment where they can concentrate on their studies.
The Foundation has supported a cumulative total of 504 students (as of May 20, 2025) with the aim of fostering creative and talented individuals with an international perspective and ultimately contributing to friendship and goodwill by building bridges between Japan and the rest of the world.
