Overseas initiatives to reduce the environmental impact
The PPIH Group is expanding its overseas operations, opening 30 stores in Asia (excluding Japan) and 65 stores in North America as of June 30, 2022. In order to accelerate Group-wide efforts to reduce the environmental impact generated by our business activities, we have established a subcommittee under the Sustainability Committee with the theme of "Initiatives to Address Environmental Issues Overseas," and stores in each country and region are working together to promote a variety of initiatives.

-Reduction of waste oil by introducing oil filters
DON DON DONKI Singapore stores have installed oil filtration machines for cooking oil used for in-store cooking. By using cooking oil repeatedly instead of throwing it away after one use, we are working to reduce waste oil.

Malaysia
-Initiatives toward zero plastic waste through the sale of reusable nonwoven bags
In Malaysia, the use of plastic shopping bags is prohibited by law and biodegradable plastic shopping bags are the norm. However, DON DON DONKI Malaysia stores sell reusable nonwoven bags instead of single-use shopping bags to better protect the environment. More and more customers are now using our reusable nonwoven bags as shopping bags.

Macau
-Environmental Protection by discontinuing plastic shopping bags
Macau began charging for plastic shopping bags in 2019. However, DON DON DONKI Macau stores discontinue to provide it, and instead sell reusable nonwoven bags for environmental protection purposes. We sold about 30,000 large-size bags and 43,000 small-size bags from January to July 2022.
In addition, we do not distribute disposable food storage bags in the produce section for the same reason. We inform our customers of this in promotional materials and promote their understanding.
