Efforts to expand Japanese agricultural, livestock, and fishery products exports

PPIC, a Partnership Organization for Expanding the Exporting of Japanese Products

Exporting Japanese agricultural, livestock, and fishery products requires the cooperation of many people, including producers, those involved in distribution, and government and municipal officials involved in various regulations and export procedures. Therefore, in October 2020, the PPIH Group established the PPIC (Pan Pacific International Club), a partnership organization of the PPIH Group with producers, businesses involved in exports, and related organizations, in order for the PPIH Group to work together as an "All Japan" entity for the purpose of expanding exports of agricultural, livestock, and marine products.

Marine Transport using CA Containers Compatible with Dual-Temperature Zones

In preparation for the export of agricultural products and other goods overseas, the PPIH group has been conducting trial marine shipments of dual-temperature CA (Controlled Atmosphere) containers in collaboration with Ocean Network Express and NAX JAPAN Co., Ltd. since November 2023.
These containers are divided into two compartments by partitions, enabling the co-loading of items requiring different optimal temperatures. Additionally, the CA function allows for the adjustment of oxygen and carbon dioxide concentrations, thereby extending the storage life of food products.
These mechanisms are expected to lead to cost reductions through improved loading efficiency, reduced food waste, and the possibility of reducing the number of containers, which in turn could result in reduced CO₂ emissions.
