Development of environmentally friendly products

We also focus on the development of environmentally friendly and sustainable products, such as Don Quijote's private brand (PB) "Jonetz" which is developed based on the concept of being "a people's brand created together with customers". In addition to responding to customer needs for environmental friendliness, such as reducing CO2 emissions and using recycled materials, we will contribute to solving environmental issues through product procurement.

In 2022, some of the packaging materials were changed from plastic to paper and biomass ink was used to make the product more environmentally friendly.
Because tea leaves are sensitive to moisture and light, it was not possible to use only paper for packaging, and a certain amount of plastic had to be used. Through trial and error, we were able to reduce the amount of plastic as much as possible while maintaining the quality of the tea leaves, resulting in a 57% reduction in plastic packaging.
There are not many tea leaves that use paper-marked packaging, and this is one of our pioneering efforts.

Part of the packaging material has been changed from plastic to paper. This sustainable packaging not only reduces the amount of plastic used, but also contributes to reducing environmental impact.

Uses lightweight bottles to reduce plastic by about 20% compared to conventional bottles.

To make effective use of limited resources, we use recycled cotton recycled from plastic bottles.
In addition, by compressing and downsizing products for delivery, we are not only able to reduce CO₂ emissions during transportation, but also to provide products to our customers at a lower cost.

These are cost-effective work gloves that utilize leftover threads.
The use of colored threads that do not easily show dirt helps these products last longer and are environmentally friendly.
We contribute to waste reduction by purchasing and utilizing leftover yarn that would otherwise be discarded due to excess despite its high quality in bulk.

These clear cups are made from used PET bottles as raw materials. Each clear cup contains 25% recycled PET bottles.
This contributes to resource recycling and reduction of the use of virgin plastic.

The 2x Fluffy Eco-Rolls from UNY's eco!on environmentally friendly PB product line is a toilet paper made of 100% recycled paper. The recycled paper is FSC certified (C141076), which certifies the use of recycled materials.
