Supporting the Tatsuwoyaki Project, an initiative by high school students to solve local issues
Provide in-store learning opportunities, named the Shoiku® Project to children
Aspiring to help children acquire greater insight into what it means to have a job and associated responsibilities, the Shoiku® Project--an in-store learning opportunity that enables children to experience the joy of working and to gain a sense of responsibility through retail--is implemented at all domestic the PPIH Group stores. In the fiscal year ended June 30, 2018 stores welcomed 1,776 children, mostly elementary and junior high school students, from 208 schools. Also, many stores responded to requests from local schools by dispatching the store managers to schools to perform classes in which they discussed the importance of autonomous thought and action and the joy and motivation to be gained through retail.
