Tetsuya Karube

Tetsuya Karube is a Senior Executive Officer and CIO (Chief Integration Officer) and Head of Office of Special Duties (Sales Duties). He would often use the Don Quijote close to his home and remembers feeling a sense of closeness with it; wondering if he would feel an affinity with this company, he joined Don Quijote Co., Ltd. in 1999. After he entered the company, he was responsible for 1MD (electronics) and 2MD (daily goods) in the Product Category Department. In terms of store areas, he was responsible for Kanto and Shizuoka, and gained experience as the general manager of the Roppongi branch and as the general manager of the Nishitokyo branch. He became a director of Don Quijote Holdings Retail Management in 2016, the head of Central Japan Sales Headquarters in 2017, and the head of East Japan Sales Headquarters in 2019. In 2020, he was appointed to the Board of Directors of Marshmallow Co., Ltd. in order to take on the challenge of a new digital field. Additionally, since July 2020, he has been in charge of marketing and business integration as CMIO (Chief Marketing and Integration Officer). In March 2021, he was appointed as President and Representative Director of KaibaLab Corporation.
Mr. Karube always strives to come up with and implement ideas from the perspective of other people, and considers what he can do to increase team integration and motivation. He is a talent with strong leadership who will push the whole organization forward.
When it comes to his job, he will accept anything, large or small, based on his motto of never saying "I can't."
His goal for the future is to disseminate support and new digital strategies on-site so we can raise the level of our physical stores even higher.
