Mikihira Katagiri

Mikihira Katagiri is a Managing Executive Officer and the Vice President & Representative Director of UNY Co., Ltd. While he was job hunting, he attended a joint information session about Don Quijote, and became interested in our culture of delegating authority and our meritocratic company spirit, which led him to join us in 2000.
In the decade after he joined the company, he accumulated experience as an employee responsible for apparel. Then, he served as the general manager of the Hokuriku and Shinetsu branches from 2012, the Gunma and Nagano branches from 2014, and the Keiyo branch from 2016. In 2017, he became the director and vice president of Nagasakiya Co., Ltd., before being appointed an executive officer of the former Don Quijote Holdings Co., Ltd. (now PPIH) in 2018. He became president of UD Retail CO., LTD. and a director and executive officer of UNY Co., Ltd. in 2019.
He strives to always "flip the subject" as he carries out his work, based on his motto of not just improving a "phenomenon," but also understanding its essence and improving its "root."
As an executive officer and the president of our UDR company, he is in charge of our UDR business, serving as the president of UD Retail Co., Ltd., and as a director and executive officer of UNY Co., Ltd. His current aims are to make UDR a true growth engine of the PPIH Group as stores that contribute to increased sales, and to produce large numbers of future leaders from UDR.
